Heligan Woods Camping and Caravan park  is the perfect base for exploring the coastline and countryside of Cornwall. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a few yards away (to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan website click here) and the world Famous Eden Project a 15 minute drive. 

Plunge in to the rhododendron forests and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Catch the ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey, swim from the sandy beaches that abound and hunt through the glittering rock pools or simply enjoy true Cornish hositality at one of the locaity's many traditional village pubs.

For garden lovers Lanhydrock House, Trewithen and Trerice are all nearby as are the gardens of Pencarrow House and Pine Lodge. The great Gardens of Cornwall await you. www.greatgardensofcornwall.co.uk   Another popular day trip is to see the gardens at Trebah and Trelissick and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall at Falmouth.

The picturesque Cornish harbour and fishing port of Mevagissey is a short stroll away via an old carrige drive and the harbours of Charlestown and Fowey are both nearby.

Catch a sea bass from the beach at Pentewan or fresh mackerel from Mevagissey harbour wall. Vist Mevagissey Aquarium and visit the fresh fish stall on the quay.

Book a fishing trip for an hour or a day  from the Harbour Office.

Cornwall's cuisine  is well publicised in both newspapers  and television, there are many good quality restaurants in the area with most serving fresh locally caught seafood.
